BRAYLEN WALDO FOR AIKEN CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT 5

Braylen Waldo is a lifelong resident of Aiken with deep roots in District 5.
He is not a career politician; he’s a fourth-generation son of Aiken, shaped by both the struggles and strengths of his community.
Raised by a determined teenage mother and father, Braylen split his childhood between Aiken and Columbia, South Carolina. It was in those early years that he learned what resilience looks like and what it means to fight for a better future. He later earned a double major in National Security and Political Science, along with an associate degree in Criminal Justice, taking with him the values instilled in him by his hometown.
Braylen had every opportunity to build a life elsewhere, but he chose to come back to Aiken to give back, raise his children, and serve the community that raised him.
Known for his leadership, integrity, and commitment to service, Braylen has worn many hats, from former college athlete to Senior Security Specialist at Savannah River National Laboratory. His background in National Security, Political Science, and Criminal Justice has shaped his drive to create a District 5 where every voice matters and every person belongs. Whether you’re raising a family, building a career, running a business, pursuing an education, or enjoying retirement, Braylen is committed to making sure our community is a place where everyone can feel safe, supported, and proud to call home.
